Hot Wheels Premium 2-Car Set - (LBWK) Nissan Skyline Silhouette & LB-ER34 Super Silhouette Nissan Skyline
The Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette is a racing version of the Nissan Skyline R30, mainly intended for use in Group 5 competition. The car was most notably driven by Masahiro Hasemi in 1982 and 1983 for his own team, Hasemi Motorsport, in the All-Japan Sports Prototype Championship; the car, powered by a 2.1L LZ20B turbocharged inline-4 producing 562 BHP, mated to a 5-speed Doug Nash manual and sponsored by Tomica, was highly successful, chalking up seven wins (2 in 1982 and 5 in 1983).
This casting is based on the Skyline Super Silhouette featured in a series of commercials produced in collaboration with the late actor and racing driver Paul Newman; of note is that that car was a replica produced by Nissan just for the occasion and was never officially raced. This was Jun Imai's last Hot Wheels design before leaving Mattel.
LB-ER34 Super Silhouette SKYLINE Complete Body Kit is the designation for a body kit designed by Liberty Walk, a Japanese aftermarket automotive company, intended to be fitted on the R34-generation Nissan Skyline. It consists of a front bumper, rear bumper and diffuser, rear wing, wide fenders and side skirts and a new hood. Prices start at ¥1.87m or USD18,700.
